Avian Veterinarians

Parrots require specialized medical care and a veterinarian that is knowledgeable on how to properly handle, diagnose and treat parrots. Do not assume all vets have adequate experience with parrots - they do not.

We recommend searching for a board-certified avian veterinarian in your area. Below are the ones we love and recommend, but you can also use the search tool on the Association of Avian Veterinarians website here.

Some veterinarians below may not be board-certified but have proven to be excellent in the knowledge and practice of avian medicine and thus have made our list.

Do not take your bird to a vet that is not board-certified or directly recommended by to you by a reputable source unless you have no other choice.

If you do not have an avian vet near you, consider reaching out to one by calling them for a second opinion or to analyze labs done by your local vet.
